LMS platforms provide an online space where educators can deliver courses, share resources, track student progress and assess performance.
Advantages of using LMS as a type of E-learning
1. It enhances the teaching and learning experience. One major benefit is the flexibility and accessibility it provides; students can access learning materials anytime and from any location, which supports diverse learning style and schedule
2. It also enables organized content delivery, timely feedback, and opportunities for student collaboration through discussion forums and group activities (Costa et al., 2012).
3. LMS platforms support multimedia integration, which can improve student engagement and retention of information (Islam, 2016)
Disadvantages of using LMS platform
1. The dependency of technology can be a problem in areas with limited internet access or for students lacking digital literacy (Alshorman & Bawaneh, 2018)
2. Some students may experience reduced or engagement in online-only environment due to the lack of face-to-face as software (Sun, P. -C., Tsai, R. J., Finger, G., Chen, Y. -Y., & Yeh, D. 2018).
3. Technical issues such as software bugs or navigation difficulties may also hinder the learning experience and cause frustration.
